South Bank Cultural Forecourt, Brisbane, QLD

South Bank Parklands is located opposite the Brisbane CBD on the site of World Expo 88.
The parklands are one of Brisbane’s premier event destinations including festivals and Night Noodle Markets. The parkland consists of a rainforest, water features, grassed areas, a riverfront promenade, Streets Beach (a man-made swimming area), The Arbour, Wheel of Brisbane, The Courier Mail Piazza and many restaurants and cafés.

A joint venture between the QLD Government, Brisbane City Council and South Bank Corporation created a tourist feature known as the “Brisbane Sign” erected on the forecourt to celebrate the G20 Summit held in Brisbane 2014.

A new footpath was constructed to enable tourists to view the Brisbane Sign with the city skyline in the background.

A car park situated below the parkland required a suitable drainage system to prevent water leaking from the park and entering the underground car park.
